SHIYAN CHEN
Life Atlas: A Website for Planning Your Future Vision
As a third-culture person who grew up in China, Germany, and the U.S., I continue to resonate with the feeling of an uncertain future and an inability to belong, like many others who moved across different countries. Instead of constantly worrying about things I cannot control, what I can do is research and plan backup options for the future in case the most favorable outcome does not work out.
I created the concept for a website where people can make their own timelines to reflect on their past experiences, see where they are in life right now, and plan different possible futures so there is always something to fall back on. You can also imagine a completely different life that you dream of. Writing things down and figuring out the steps can help you bring the idea into reality.
I used Claude to code and edit the HTML for the website, and I used Adobe Illustrator to create the visuals and ideas for functions.

Visual and concept designed with Adobe Illustrator.

You can change the color palette and set your own color for your timeline in "Your Account".

You can create a list of priorities in your life.
